Hilux 4X4 Army

Indian Army added the Hilux 4x4s from Toyota to their fleet. Toyota delivered the first batch of the Hillux pick-up truck to the Indian Army on Wednesday. This new addition is Toyota’s first vehicle order from the Indian Army.

The Northern Command of the India Army’s Technical Evaluation Committee rigorously evaluated the Hillux for two months before inducting it into their fleet. The authorities tested the vehicle in rough terrain and extreme weather condition. The vehicle underwent tests and evaluation from an altitude of 13,000 ft to sub-zero temperatures.

The Indian Army possesses various 4x4s in their fleet, which includes the likes of Maruti Gypsy, Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Safari Storme (GS800), Tata Xenon pick-up, etc. Now in recent developments, the Toyota Hilux is the new addition.

The Indian Army seems to appreciate the off-road capability of the vehicle. Additionally, Toyota’s brand credibility is probably another reason why the Indian Army prioritized the vehicle. Although one might assume that the army-spec edition Hillux would be modified accordingly for army convenience, there’s no input if it differs from the civilian-spec model.

Prior to this, the Indian Army acquired a fleet of the Mahindra Scorpio Classic, which was meant to replace the older units of the Maruti Gypsy. The Maruti Gypsy served the Indian Army for about two decades.

The bipolar world of power is on the verge of becoming a multipolar world of power where every other nation is focusing on becoming a superpower. Nations across the world are increasing the expenditure on defense equipment to stay more protected and ready whenever required.

The World Index name Twitter account has shared the 2023 Military strength ranking list of 20 countries. This list shows that the US holds the first position in a list of 20 countries and Russia holds the second position. US and Russia were earlier considered as two sole powerful nations and the rest of the nations were either with Russia or US but with time countries like China also emerged as superpowers.

China holds the third position in this list and the fourth position is held by India. India’s military strength is likely to go up as it’s focusing on developing indigenous defense equipment and reducing its dependency on imports. Ukraine which is at war with Russia holds 15th rank which makes it way behind rival Russia.

If we talk about the countries which hold the last position, Israel holds the 18th position, Vietnam holds the 19th position, and Poland at the 20th position. The position of countries in this list cannot specify their strength because Israel is one of the countries with less military strength but immense intelligence power. Its intelligence body Mossad is known all across the world for various missions that make it ahead of others.

Indian Navy successfully test-fired ship launched BrahMos missile in the Arabian Sea with an indigenously designed Seeker and Booster. This test fire took place on Sunday and its seeker and booster have been indigenously designed by DRDO India.

This news has been shared by SpokespersonNavy’s Twitter account in which it wrote “Indian Navy successful precision strike in the Arabian Sea by ship launched BrahMos missile with DRDO India designed indigenous seeker and booster reinforces its commitment towards Atma Nirbharta and Atma Nirbhar Bharat”.

The BrahMos is a cruise missile that was jointly developed by Russia and India and it travels three times faster than sound. Its high speed and low-altitude flying capability make it hard to trace on radars. This was one of the main concerns of Pakistan when it accidentally got fired from India and Pakistan could barely see it on the radars.

Though to not escalate the situation the Indian government fired officers involved in this negligence. In January India signed a $375 million deal with the Philippines for supplying BrahMos and India is focusing on other countries to increase its export of missiles.

Earlier this missile’s major components were manufactured and imported from Russia but now India is trying to overtake the manufacturing of those components. This move is going to pave the future of India in the way of Atma Nirbharta.

The Biden Administration has approved a massive USD 450 million F-16 fighter jet fleet sustainment program for Pakistan, overturning the choice made by its predecessor.

The State Department has approved a potential foreign military sale of F-16 cases for sustainment and related equipment for an estimated cost of USD 450 million, notifying the US Congress of its decision. The State Department argues that this will maintain Islamabad’s capability to meet present and future counterterrorism threats by maintaining its F-16 fleet.

On Wednesday, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency sent Congress the necessary paperwork informing them of this potential transaction. After Trump said in 2018 that he would cease all defense and security aid to Pakistan on the grounds that Islamabad was not a partner in the country’s fight against terrorism, this is the first significant security support to Pakistan.

“The U.S. Government has informed Congress of a planned Foreign Military Sales case to support the F-16 programme of the Pakistan Air Force. The United States offers life cycle maintenance and sustainment packages for US-origin platforms as part of longstanding policy, and Pakistan is a crucial counterterrorism partner, according to a State Department official.

Pakistan’s USD 450 million foreign military sale includes participation in the F-16 Aircraft Structural Integrity Programme, the Electronic Combat International Security Assistance Programme, the International Engine Management Programme, the Engine Component Improvement Programme, and other technical coordination groups; modifications to the hardware and software of the aircraft and engines; support for the modifications; and spare parts for the aircraft and engines that can be repaired or returned.

According to the Pentagon, this planned sale will help the US achieve its foreign policy and national security goals by preserving Pakistan’s ability to work with US and ally forces in existing counterterrorism operations and in the planning of upcoming contingency operations.

The warship is huge in size and shape. Approximately 262 metres long and 62 metres wide the aircraft is as large as two football fields end to end and 18 floors tall, explains the Navy via a video. Vikrant has 14 decks with 2,300 compartments that can carry approximately 1,500 sea warriors. To meet the ship’s food requirements, approximately 10,000 chapatis are made in the ship’s galley.

Along with the commissioning of Vikrant, India has decided to join a select group of nations that have the unique capability of designing and building an aircraft carrier in-house. As per ANI news agency, “the aircraft craft displaces about 45,000 tonnes which is definitely the largest warship in the Indian naval history”.

The pro-Russian hacker group, Killent, recently suggested that they will target Baykar, the company that creates the TB2 drone. According to the hacktivist group, this drone impacted majorly in the Russia-Ukraine war. Additionally, targeting Baykar would also mean targeting Turkey.

This information comes in through a recent Tweet update by CyberKnow through their Twitter handle @Cyberknow20.

Screenshots in the Tweet showed statements by Killnet. Killnet expressed the consideration of eliminating the Bayraktar brothers in their statement. It was mentioned that they are not far from Lockheed Martin, the American arms, defense, information security and technology corporation.

According to Killnet, Turkey is the same as Ukraine, Lithuania and the rest of the Europe, except Hungary and Serbia, although people states that Turkey supports Russia’s position and are brothers.

Baykar is a Turkish defence company. They are specialized in UAVs, C4I and artificial intelligence. Baykar’s drones saw usage in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war by the Azerbaijani army. This led the company to face many international boycott. Drone production for the company before that used to be dependent on components exported from foreign countries.  Baykar’s drones were also found being used during the Nagono-Karabakh war. Foreign companies thus boycotted providing components to Baykar on realizing that these components were used to create combat drones.

A top corporate executive claims that the technical staff at Chennai-based Garuda Aerospace has been asked to modify drones for security reasons by the Indian Army.
The army has expressed a significant interest in utilizing Garuda Aerospace’s expertise and technical understanding in the realm of drone technology to deploy drones more successfully in modern combat.

Drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace is ready to provide knowledge to the Indian Army for the accomplishment of particular missions, such as the identification, destruction, and disruption of transnational organized criminal networks. The former Indian cricket team captain and current captain of the Chennai Super Kings is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Additionally, he is an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Territorial Army.

Demining is a risky operation by its very nature, and the army is continuously looking for ways to improve its effectiveness, speed, and cost. The company began its US $30 million Series A round of investment at a recent valuation of US $250 million.

Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO said “Garuda Aerospace has created significant traction by deploying drones for unique applications to support the Indian Army and now will be using multiple-purpose drones for strategic and tactical operations.”

Jayaprakash claims that this collaboration will enable big businesses like ours to utilize our expertise while also assisting in meeting defense requirements. The businessman went on to say that he was “extremely honored” to serve his country and that he was delighted to offer to provide “Make in India” drones to the military forces that support front-line soldiers.

“Our drones are built with artificial intelligence and technology that has rapid learning,” the speaker stated.

The update would help the army fulfill its duties for the country while adhering to timelines and operational tempo, thus the drone startup has been asked to send a technical team. Garuda Aerospace will examine the practices and offer a recommendation using its “Make in India” drones to decrease the vulnerability of the Indian military and manual laborers engaged.

These drones will assist with logistics and reconnaissance.
