Mi 11X, 11X Pro and Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G have gotten the functionality via an OTA recently

With each passing day Indian telecom companies are expanding at a phenomenal rate. Jio and Airtel, the biggest telecom companies in India, are working rigorously towards covering each town and village for 5G service. But do you know something like Jio’s 5G and Airtel’s 5G made companies like Xiaomi roll out the OTA update? Xiaomi India recently posted a post informing that its entire portfolio of over 20 5G devices support 5G NSA and many have access to the 5G SA network.

Reliance Jio is deploying 5G standalone (SA) networks throughout India. This is an issue for those devices of Xiaomi and other companies which don’t support 5G SA and won’t be able to use 5G service from Jio. Xiaomi through the post informed that Mi 11X and 11X Pro and Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G have gotten the functionality via an OTA recently. According to the post Mi 10, Mi 10i, Mi 10T, and Mi Pro will receive the OTA update soon making them 5G SA network compatible.

Airtel is deploying 5G non-standalone (NSA) networks, which are supported by most of the devices in the market. Deploying 5G SA would not have only cost heavy investment for Airtel but also many devices in India don’t support SA.
