Airtel and Vodafone-Idea decide to increase tariff plans from December 1

The two major telecommunication brands of India – Vodafone-Idea and Bharti Airtel will be increasing tariff prices in India from December 1. This move comes after the quarterly losses to the tune of Rs 50,921 crore and Rs 28,450 crore, respectively was registered by both the operators. Now, both the companies are under enormous pressure, and with the surmounting dues, it seems they have played their final card.

According to a report, industry experts estimate at least 35-40% price hike in pre-paid and post-paid tariff plans of both the telecom companies. Till now, both the companies have been competing aggressively with Reliance Jio, which is well on its way to achieve 500 million subscribers.
