Oppo has redesigned its logo by replacing green squircle with the black squircle

Oppo has redesigned its logo silently ditching its iconic green background and replacing it with the black colour. According to the GSMArena, this change was noticed by online users in China when they noticed the changes in profile images on Weibo. When users headed to their Weibo account of Oppo for a reply regarding this they were responded with the reply that green remains an important brand component that will be used in “interactive visual designs to enrich every scene where the brand meets the users”.

It also said that the logo will soon appear in monochrome form. If you visit the website you will find something similar in the logo which has lost its green squircle and even the website has gone through numerous changes in design. This redesign has not happened overnight but was evident from Oppo’s steps because it has been doing the same with Oppo’s marketing communication for a long time. But the design of the new logo looks more simple and more consistent with each character equal in thickness unlike the old one.

We have recently witnessed the rebranding of Twitter in which Twitter was changed to X written in white on black background. It’s like a trend since 2018 when every brand wants their logo to look more common than ever before. Being unique was like a handicap for brands but companies later ditched their recognizable logos with the common logos thus making the image common.
