China-telecom building completely burned down in 20 minutes

On Friday afternoon, a massive fire engulfed a high-rise office building in downtown Changsha, the capital of China’s southern province of Hunan (Sep 16).

According to state broadcaster CCTV, dozens of storeys of the more than 200m-tall China Telecom building “burned with great intensity,” sending thick smoke into the sky.

According to Hunan’s fire department, the fire was extinguished and no casualties were discovered.

It was also stated that 36 fire trucks and 280 firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

A CCTV image showed orange flames raging through a building in a densely populated area of the city, while black smoke billowed into the sky.
