Samsung bags most US patents after beating IBM this time: Check details here

Recently, the World of Statistics posted a tweet with the list of companies with the most US patents granted. It mentions companies that have won it since the year 2000 until 2022. As per the list formulated, IBM has bagged the most US patents starting from 2000 to 2021. In such a long time period, it is the first time that any company other than IBM has been granted the most US patents. Samsung has bagged this tag in the year 2022.

Have a look at the tweet.

As per Forbes, Samsung has received 6248 patents. In the meanwhile, IBM stood second with 4398 patents. This is 49% lower than the 8681 patents IBM received in 2021.

IFI added that the transition in the patent leaderboard (with Samsung bagging the most US patents) is indicative that innovation is moving towards Asia.

The top 10 brands in the patent leaderboard in the year 2022 are as follows. The number of US patents they bagged is also mentioned here.

The first is, of course, Samsung with 6248 patents followed by 4398 patents bagged by IBM. The third on the list is Taiwan Semiconductor with 3024 patents. Huawei stood fourth with 2836 patents.
