Xiaomi India won’t be laying off its employees and is focusing on profitability this year said Xiaomi India’s President

Xiaomi India’s President, Muralikrishnan B in his statement clarified that the company will not be laying off employees in India this year. There were some reports earlier that Xiaomi can lay off its employees in India but his statement has ruled out any such possibilities at least for this year. And further, he said that the company is focusing on profitability this year.

“You will, in the interest of efficiency in the interest of clarity of roles, restructure your organization whenever required to suit the needs of the strategy. And we’ve done that, and we continue doing that. To all speculations on us firing people, that is something that I will flatly deny,” Muralikrishnan said.

“There is a strategy…There is a structure that needs to follow that strategy. And as long as the structure is optimized and efficient to deliver that strategy, that is the right structure that we will adopt” he added.

There were some reports earlier that said Xiaomi India was planning to reduce its workforce to fewer than 1,000 employees. Reasons that were suggested for this move were government scrutiny and poor growth. However, Muralikrishnan ‘s statement has completely denied such remarks.
