Motorola aims on being one of top three global players; plans on doubling volumes in India in 2023

Motorola is planning to move up a few notches in terms of their investments in India, in the next one to three years. In the year 2023, the company is looking forward to double its volumes in India. By the year 2026, the company aims on quadrupling the same.

Sergio Buniac, the president of Motorola Mobility expressed in an interview with LiveMint that the company aims on becoming one of the top three global smartphone players.

He further expressed that, to be one of the top three global brands, they first have to be one of the top three in India. Thus, along with doubling the volumes in India this year, they have to grow 4X times in the next three years.

To achieve these goals, Motorola will produce its phones for the Indian market domestically. They will execute this via a partnership with Padget Electronics.

India would also be the export hub for the US and its neighboring countries Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Motorola is establishing its second camera lab in Bengaluru. They are also carrying out heavy investments in R&D in many countries, which also includes India. This enables the company to support its motive of providing devices that operate across all 5G bands, within the price range of Rs 6,999 to Rs 82,999.

By the year 2024, Motorola is planning to be available in more than 3000 stores. The brand has had most of its distribution presence online and is now planning to expand its offline retail and marketing presence.
