Keralian scooty owner fined for operating it without a pollution certificate, and the challan receipt went viral

The Kerala Traffic Police punished an owner of an electric scooter for not having a current Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.

Online images of the e-challan that the traffic police sent out on Tuesday have appeared.

The Keralan district of Malappuram is home to Neelanchery, where the challan was issued.

It was issued for “Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) not produced on demand”. The receipt has a fine of Rs 250 marked on it.

The Motor Vehicles Act of 1988’s Section 213(5)(e) is also included in the receipt.

A Kochi guy was shocked to receive a challan in July for operating his motorcycle with insufficient gasoline.

According to the challan receipt, he was penalized Rs 250 for “driving without sufficient fuel with passengers.”

The officer who authored the section made a simple typing error, the man stated.

He explained that he hadn’t run out of gas while en route and that no police officer had penalised him for it.
