National Games Opening Ceremony; Neeraj Chopra, PV Sindhu and others attend

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 36th National Games in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Technically, the National Games have started from September 20, but officially they started on September 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The opening ceremony was also attended by big sports personalities of India. Anju Bobby George, Neeraj Chopra, PV Sindhu and Gagan Narang also graced the ceremony with their presence.

Moreover, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu also attended the event. However, all these players are not participating in the National Games, but by attending the opening ceremony, these players explained the importance of this competition, and this will certainly boost the importance of sports in the country.

The players also took a shot at the shooting range of the Gujarat National Games before attending the opening ceremony of the National Games.

Furthermore, PM Modi also made a virtual launch of Swarnim Gujarat University. This university is built at a cost of more than 100 crores.
Gujarat has got the privilege of hosting of the National Games for the first time. Separate competitions will be held in six cities of the state. These six cities are Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Bhavnagar.
