What if we tell you that now you can get high-resolution pictures without increasing camera bump along with improved image quality? So today we have amazing news for all those who love to click pictures or rather to get themselves clicked.

On Tuesday Samsung introduced a new 200MP image sensor, the ISOCELL HP2. ISOCELL HP2 has entered mass production and is likely to debut in the Galaxy S23 series, which launches on February 1.

Want to know what’s special about the ISOCELL HP2 image sensor?

According to JoonSeo Yim, Executive Vice President of Samsung, “The Samsung ISOCELL HP2 harnesses Samsung’s high-resolution image sensor technologies and know-how at the cutting edge for epic details. Our leadership comes from innovative pixel technologies that allow our sensors to go beyond the number and size of pixels. We will continue to open new horizons and solidify our presence in the expanding ultra-high-resolution sensor market. “

Samsung claims it has added advanced tetra pixel-binning technology to improve performance in low-light conditions. According to the company, the sensor modifies either into a 1.2 micrometer 50 MP by binding four adjacent pixels or a 2.3 micrometer12.5 MP image sensor by binding four to 16 neighboring pixels. It can also auto-focus quickly even in dimly lit environments.

The image sensor can also record 8k videos at 30fps and it is also able to record videos 4K HDR videos at 60fps. The problem of images coming washed out in bright environments has also been fixed with HP2’s Dual Vertical Transfer Gate technology. This can also reduce overexposure and enhance color reproductions in images, especially when taken in bright light.

The sensor has the same footprint as a 108MP image sensor but higher megapixel counts. This would allow smartphone makers to add higher-resolution camera sensors in their premium smartphones without large camera bumps.

This means that it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the Galaxy S23 series might be the best phone to capture images normally. In dim light and also in bright-lit environments if they have a 200 MP ISOCELLHP2 image sensor.
