Airtel Rolls Out 5G Services Across 22 Telecom Circles In India

Yesterday, Airtel said that they have rolled out 5G services on 26GHz spectrum across 22 telecom circles in India. Last week, Airtel tested the 5G services and data speeds on both the 26 GHz and 3300 MHz spectrum bands in West Bengal and was successful.

The rollout has been done as required by norms set by the Department of Telecommunication and to the minimum rollout obligation criteria.

Airtel’s expansion of the 5G network in India has been rapid since last October. They have already rolled out 5G services in more than 3,500 cities and towns. Airtel bought 19,867.8 MHz of Bandwidth worth Rs 43,084 in last year’s 5G spectrum sale.
