Airtel XStream AirFiber 5G app listed on Google Play store, first look and details revealed

The telecom company, Airtel is the second company that comes after Reliance Jio in India. Airtel has always given neck-to-neck competition to Jio whether it’s in terms of launching new services, 5G connectivity all over the world, or postpaid and prepaid plans. This time also the story remains the same as Airtel is nearing the launch of the XStream AirFiber 5G device that will be competing with Jio’s AirFiber which could launch in August or September this year.

Till now Airtel has not officially announced the launch date of the XStream AirFiber 5G device but you can hear the announcement very soon as a companion app for this device has been spotted on Google Play Store.

Due to the listing on Play Store, the first look at the upcoming device has been revealed. According to the listing on opening the app, it will try to get location access and point towards the nearest 5G tower. After spotting the best coverage area user will be asked to place the XStream AirFiber 5G device at the marked location just like in the image below.

After that, the user needs to insert the SIM in the SIM slot which is at the bottom of the device. Then locate the cable slot and insert the pinned end into the slot jack at the back of the device and after connecting the device with the power source it can be switched on. The device will be including three indicator lights among which the blue light is for the internet network indicator the green light in the middle is for the cellular network indicator and the green light at the bottom is for the connectivity indicator.

To connect your smartphone with the device the user just needs to scan the QR code present on the device. XStream AirFiber has WiFi 6 support meanwhile from the listing it was revealed that a 6-month XStream AirFiber Plan with 100Mbps speed will cost Rs.2,994. The pricing details of the Airtel XStream AirFiber 5G device is not revealed yet but it is expected that the device could be priced at approx Rs.6,000.
